Steps to Participate: Procure-to-Pay Process

Electronic Document Exchange enables Freeport-McMoRan and our suppliers to collaborate and conduct e-business in a highly integrated fashion. This system allows for Freeport-McMoRan to submit electronic Purchase Orders to suppliers, and receive electronic Invoices back from Suppliers - this is the 'Procure - to Pay' cycle. Further, several other commercial and settlement process are involved, including payment terms standardization and ACH Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

Step 1: Verify Payment Terms

Phelps Dodge standard payment/discount terms of 2/10 Net 45 or Net 45 are required. Confirm your acceptance of these standard payment terms by notifying your Freeport-McMoRan Global Supply Chain contact.

Step 2: Setup EFT with Freeport-McMoRan

Setup electronic funds transfer with our Accounts Payable department by completing enrollment with PayMode.

Step 3: Subscribe to Ariba Supplier Network 

Ariba Supplier Network is for suppliers that want to transact with Freeport-McMoRan using electronic POs and Invoices .

Another application of Ariba Supplier Network is a punchout catalog. If approved by the Freeport-McMoRan Global Supply Chain commodity manager, the supplier will be able to host their punchout catalog within the Freeport-McMoRan requisitioning system through Ariba Supplier Network.

Step 4: Procurement - electronic Purchase Order

The electronic purchase order process is enabled via the Ariba Supplier Network.  Freeport-McMoRan supplier enablement team members and the supplier will team to develop and implement the Ariba-based procurement process. This is a straight-forward process and suppliers familiar with the Ariba Supplier Network should review Freeport-McMoRan specific implementation resources.

Step 5: Settlement - electronic Invoicing and EFT

The electronic invoicing process is enabled via the Ariba Supplier Network. Our Supplier Enablement FAQs section provides additional details.
